Last updated: August 27, 2026

Who we are

Northshore Insurance Associates (“Northshore,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent insurance agency and producer located at 508 Central Ave Ste 210, Highland Park, IL 60035. We provide insurance brokerage and advisory services for business insurance, commercial insurance, trucking and transportation programs, and employee benefits, primarily serving Illinois and the Greater Chicago area.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information in connection with this website and our insurance brokerage services. It is intended to meet applicable privacy notice expectations for insurance producers, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and Illinois law.

Scope

This policy applies to information we collect through this website (including consultation and client-service forms), by phone, email, text, mail, or in person, and in the course of reviewing, placing, and servicing insurance coverage.

Insurance policies themselves are contracts with the issuing insurance company. Carriers, managing general agents, wholesalers, and plan administrators have their own privacy practices. When we share information with those parties to obtain or service coverage, their notices also apply.

Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. We collect information you provide, information about your business or operations that is needed to evaluate coverage, and limited technical information from your use of the site.

  • Identity and contact details, such as name, company name, phone number, email address, mailing address, and preferred method and time of contact.
  • Business and operations information, such as industry, number of employees, fleet size, number of drivers, operator type, current carrier, renewal date, coverage interests, and notes you include in a form or conversation.
  • Account and policy information for existing clients, such as policy numbers and details needed to process certificates, claims assistance, billing questions, or other service requests.
  • Employee-benefits information at the employer or group level, such as current benefits offered and the types of programs you want to discuss. We do not use this website to collect individual employee medical records.
  • Communications you send us, including emails, call notes, and messages submitted through our forms.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our hosting environment and server logs may record limited technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and the date and time of the visit. If you submit a form, we may also record the page you submitted from.

We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the website, understand how visitors find us, and respond to inquiries. We do not use the public website to display third-party advertising.

How we use information

We use personal and business information to operate as an insurance producer and to respond to the requests you make of us.

  • Review consultation requests and follow up by phone, email, or text using the contact method you selected.
  • Evaluate coverage needs, obtain indications or quotes from insurers and other markets, and present options for your consideration.
  • Place, bind (when authorized), and service policies, including certificates of insurance, claims coordination, billing questions, and account updates.
  • Maintain client and prospect records, meet regulatory, licensing, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations, and resolve disputes.
  • Protect the security of our systems, detect misuse, and improve our website and services.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. As an independent insurance agency, we share information only as needed to perform insurance services, operate our business, or comply with law.

  • Insurance companies, managing general agents, wholesalers, surplus lines brokers, and program administrators, in order to obtain quotes, place coverage, make filings, or service a policy.
  • Third-party administrators, claims administrators, and other vendors involved in a coverage program you ask us to review or place.
  • Service providers that help us operate this website and our practice, such as hosting, database, email, document, and productivity tools. These providers are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.
  • Professional advisors, such as legal, accounting, or compliance counsel, when reasonably necessary.
  • Regulators, courts, or other parties when we believe disclosure is required by law, licensing rules, or to protect our rights, our clients, or the public.

Nonpublic personal information

As an insurance agency, we may receive nonpublic personal information about individuals in connection with insurance transactions. We collect that information from you, from your transactions with us, and from insurance companies and other parties involved in the placement or servicing of coverage.

We do not disclose nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties except as described in this policy, as permitted or required by law, or as needed to provide the insurance products and services you request. We restrict access to this information to people who need it to perform their duties, and we maintain safeguards intended to protect it.

Employee benefits and health-related information

When we assist employers with group health or other employee benefits, we may receive plan-design information and, in some cases, information that relates to health coverage. Website forms are designed to collect employer-level details, not individual medical histories.

If we receive protected health information in the course of benefits work, we use it only to place, service, or advise on the relevant coverage, and we share it only with carriers, administrators, and other parties who need it for that purpose. We do not use website inquiries to make individual medical underwriting decisions.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to operate pages, maintain a session (including for our internal administration area), and remember limited preferences. Our forms may also capture the page from which a request was submitted.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect site functionality. If we add optional analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, provide additional notice or choice.

Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide services, maintain client files, meet insurance, tax, licensing, and recordkeeping requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by the type of record and applicable law. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use care when sending sensitive information by email or text.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to or correction of personal information we maintain about you, ask us to update your contact preferences, or opt out of non-essential marketing communications. You can also withdraw consent for future marketing contact. We may still contact you about a policy, claim, certificate, or other service matter when we have an existing business relationship or a legal obligation to do so.

Illinois residents and others may have additional rights under applicable privacy and insurance laws. To make a request, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests, and we may decline a request when the law permits us to do so (for example, where we must retain records).

Children

This website is intended for business owners, operators, employers, and other adults seeking commercial insurance or employee-benefits advisory services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site.

Links to other sites

This website may link to carrier portals, industry resources, or other third-party sites. Those sites are not controlled by Northshore, and their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy for future visits and submissions.
