Terms of Service
Terms governing your use of the Northshore Insurance Associates website and insurance brokerage inquiries.
Last updated: August 27, 2026
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website operated by Northshore Insurance Associates (“Northshore,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including any consultation forms, client-service request forms, and related digital content.
By accessing the site, submitting a form, or requesting our services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Who we are
Northshore Insurance Associates is an independent insurance agency and licensed insurance producer with offices at 508 Central Ave Ste 210, Highland Park, IL 60035. We advise on and, where appropriate, place business insurance, commercial insurance, trucking and transportation coverage, and employee benefits.
We are not an insurance company. Coverage, if issued, is provided by the insurer that writes the policy. Availability, eligibility, pricing, forms, and underwriting guidelines are determined by those insurers and applicable law, not by this website.
Informational nature of the website
Content on this site is for general information about insurance products, industry considerations, and our advisory process. It is not a quote, indication, binder, certificate, policy, or offer of insurance. It is not legal, tax, accounting, or engineering advice.
Coverage descriptions are summaries. Actual coverage is governed solely by the policy forms, endorsements, declarations, and the issuing insurer’s terms. You should not rely on website content as a complete statement of coverage, exclusions, conditions, or filings.
No coverage is bound through this website
Submitting a form, requesting a consultation, calling our office, or exchanging email does not bind coverage, create a policy, guarantee that coverage is available, or lock in pricing or commissions.
No insurance contract is formed, and no agency, broker-of-record, or producer relationship is created, until we have agreed in writing or by our customary placement process to represent you for a specific account, and any required applications, authorizations, or broker-of-record documents have been completed. A licensed advisor must review your information and applicable underwriting guidelines before any recommendation or placement.
Consultations and service requests
Consultation and client-service forms are requests for follow-up, not applications to an insurer. We may decline, delay, or refer a request if we are not licensed in the relevant jurisdiction, if the risk is outside our appetite, or if information is incomplete.
Client-service requests (such as certificates, claims coordination, or billing questions) apply to existing Northshore accounts. Submitting a service request does not change coverage, add an additional insured, or alter limits unless the insurer issues the corresponding endorsement or document.
Accuracy of information you provide
You agree that information you submit is accurate, complete, and not misleading to the best of your knowledge. Insurance placement depends on the information provided to us and to insurers. Misstatements or omissions can affect availability, pricing, and claim outcomes, and may void or restrict coverage under applicable policy terms and law.
You are responsible for reviewing applications, proposals, and policy documents we send you and for promptly correcting any inaccuracies.
Communications consent
If you submit a form and agree to be contacted, you authorize Northshore to contact you about your inquiry by phone, email, or text at the numbers and addresses you provide, including by using an autodialer or prerecorded or artificial voice if we use those tools. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any insurance product.
Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of marketing texts or emails at any time. We may still contact you about an existing policy, claim, or service request as permitted by law.
Compensation
As an independent agency, Northshore may receive commissions, fees, or other compensation from insurance companies or intermediaries in connection with the placement and servicing of coverage. Compensation can vary by product, carrier, and program. If a separate fee will be charged to you, we will disclose it as required by applicable law.
Intellectual property
The site, including its text, layout, graphics, logos, and compilation, is owned by Northshore or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for your own internal business use. You may not copy, scrape, republish, or commercially exploit site content without our prior written consent, except as allowed by law.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the site only for lawful purposes related to learning about our services or submitting a genuine inquiry or client-service request.
- Do not submit false, misleading, or another person’s information without authority.
- Do not attempt unauthorized access, disruption, scraping, or misuse of the site, forms, or related systems.
- Do not use the site to send malware, spam, or unlawful content.
Third-party sites and tools
The site may link to insurer portals, payment processors, or other third-party websites. Those services are not under our control. Your use of them is subject to their terms and privacy policies.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that coverage described on the site will be available for your risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Northshore and its owners, producers, and employees are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost business, or lost data, arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content.
Our total liability arising out of or relating to your use of the website, as distinct from any insurance policy or written brokerage engagement, will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Illinois law, including liability arising from our insurance producer duties where those duties independently apply.
Insurance coverage, if issued, is the obligation of the issuing insurer. Claims are subject to the policy and the insurer’s obligations, not to these website Terms.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Northshore and its owners, producers, and employees from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the site, your submission of inaccurate information, or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or willful misconduct.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Lake County or Cook County, Illinois, will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or use of the website, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction to protect our intellectual property or confidential information.
Changes
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the effective date of the current version. Your continued use of the site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any written brokerage or broker-of-record agreement we enter into with you, are the entire agreement regarding use of the website. A signed brokerage agreement or policy will control to the extent it conflicts with these website Terms.
Questions about these policies may be directed to Northshore Insurance Associates at advisors@northshoreinsurance.com, (847) 315-0170, or 508 Central Ave Ste 210, Highland Park, IL 60035.
